The Challenge
Smartphone launches often come with multiple product features that need to be communicated at the same time. The challenge is making those features memorable without turning creator content into a technical product demonstration.
For the OPPO Reno15 Series, three key features had to be consistently communicated:
- AI Motion Photo Popout
A creative photo feature that transforms static moments into dynamic pop-out visuals. - 50MP Ultra Wide Selfie (0.6x)
Designed for wider high-angle selfies, outfit checks and group shots. - Dancing Aurora Design
A distinctive phone design intended to become part of the creator’s overall aesthetic.
The campaign also needed to speak naturally to a young Gen Z audience across TikTok, Instagram and XiaoHongShu while keeping content casual, fast-paced and visually polished. At the same time, creators had to work within strict product requirements, brand guidelines and pre-launch confidentiality.
The challenge was therefore not simply: How do we tell people about three phone features?
It was: How do we turn those features into content formats Gen Z already wants to create and watch?
Our Strategy
From Product Features to Content Behaviours
Instead of treating the three KSPs as a checklist, we assited our client to translate each product feature into a familiar Gen Z content behaviour.
AI Motion Photo Popout ➡️ Creative Trend Content
Rather than simply demonstrating the feature on-screen, creators were guided to incorporate the AI Motion Photo Popout into visually playful photo concepts.
The content followed a simple storytelling structure: Where ➡️ Who ➡️ What
Creators captured different environments, actions and subjects before combining them into animated pop-out compositions. This made the feature itself part of the creative idea rather than just something mentioned in the video.
50MP Ultra Wide Selfie ➡️ Fit Checks & Wefies
The 0.6x Ultra Wide Selfie was translated into a content format already familiar to Gen Z:
high-angle outfit checks and group wefies.
Creators demonstrated how the wider front camera could capture more of the outfit, surroundings and group without making the content feel like a traditional camera specification demo.
Dancing Aurora Design ➡️ The Phone as Part of the Look
The Reno15’s Dancing Aurora Design was incorporated into fashion and lifestyle photography.
Creators captured:
- Full-body lifestyle shots
- Close-up phone details
- High-angle compositions
- Wide-angle photos
- Fashion-led poses
Instead of separating product design from the creator’s lifestyle, the phone became part of the visual aesthetic.
The Content Creator Strategy
Creator selection prioritised profiles that naturally reflected the audience OPPO wanted to reach:
- Gen Z content creators
- University students and fresh graduates
- Lifestyle and café-hopping creators
- Trend-driven content styles
- Strong visual storytelling
- Primarily young female audiences
TikTok and Instagram activations focused primarily on Malay content creators, while XiaoHongShu was used to reach Chinese-speaking audiences. This allowed the campaign to retain a consistent product message while adapting naturally to different communities and platforms.
A 3-Stage KOL Marketing Strategy
Rather than concentrating all creator activity around one launch date, the Reno15 campaign was structured across three distinct stages.
Stage 1 : Lifestyle
The first stage placed the OPPO Reno15 into everyday Gen Z lifestyle scenarios.
Creators produced content across locations and settings including:
- The Campus, Ampang
Creators explored multiple lifestyle setups designed to generate colourful, movement-led content. - Skyline Luge
Selected creators used an activity-based environment to create more dynamic photo and video moments. - Home & Own-Concept Content
Other creators demonstrated the features through settings closer to their own everyday content style.
Across the Lifestyle stage, the focus remained consistent: show the product features through situations people could actually imagine using them in.
The Lifestyle activation went on to generate 29M+ views, 18.8M+ reach and 74K+ audience actions.
Stage 2 : Launch
The second stage amplified the official OPPO Reno15 Series launch at Ekues Cabin Cafe, Putrajaya. Creators experienced the phone through an event designed around visual exploration.
Activities included:
- Product presentation
- Horse-riding experience
- AI Motion Photo Popout opportunities
- 0.6x selfie moments
- Four themed photo zones
- Lifestyle photography opportunities
Instead of simply covering the launch event, creators continued demonstrating the same three key product features.
The photo sequence remained: Popout 0.6x Selfie
Design
This maintained message consistency while giving creators an entirely new environment in which to interpret the features.
The Launch stage generated 9M+ views, 7.16M+ reach and 15K+ audience actions.
Stage 3 : Roadshow
The final stage brought the campaign into a public retail environment through the OPPO Reno15 Series Roadshow at IOI City Mall.
Creator content balanced:
50% product KSPs with 50% roadshow experience.
Creators explored four coloured photobooth zones: Blue, Pink, Brown and Silver while continuing to demonstrate:
- AI Motion Photo Popout
- 50MP Ultra Wide Selfie
- Dancing Aurora Design
Content also encouraged audiences to visit the roadshow and discover the phone for themselves. This helped shift the campaign from online product discovery toward a physical consumer touchpoint.
Keeping One Product Story Consistent Across Three Stages
One of the biggest creative challenges in a multi-stage campaign is repetition. If every creator explains the same three features in exactly the same way, the campaign can quickly start feeling scripted. Our approach was to keep the product message consistent while changing the context around it.
Lifestyle
How could these features fit into my everyday content?
Launch
What can I create while experiencing the product for the first time?
Roadshow
What can consumers experience when they visit the product themselves?
The KSPs stayed the same. The stories around them changed.
Campaign Results
Across all three stages, the OPPO Reno15 Series creator campaign generated:
Metric | Result |
Total Plays | 38,065,091 |
Total Reach | 26,049,344 |
Total Actions | 90,908 |
Engagement Rate | 2.85% |

The final campaign report recorded more than 38 million plays and 26 million reach across the Reno15 Lifestyle, Launch and Roadshow activations.

The campaign also showed how strongly Gen Z-led smartphone content could travel beyond a creator’s existing follower base.
Why This Campaign Worked
A smartphone feature only becomes interesting when people can imagine what they would actually do with it.
Instead of asking creators to repeatedly explain specifications, the campaign translated Reno15’s key features into behaviours already native to Gen Z content:
- AI Motion Photo Popout became a creative photo trend.
- 0.6x Ultra Wide Selfie became a fit-check and group-wefie tool.
- Dancing Aurora Design became part of the creator’s personal style.
The three-stage structure then allowed those same product stories to evolve across different moments from lifestyle discovery, to launch excitement, to an accessible retail experience.
That helped the campaign maintain product consistency without relying on identical creator executions.
The result was more than 38 million plays and 26 million reach across Instagram, TikTok and XiaoHongShu.
The bigger takeaway:
Good tech KOL marketing isn’t about repeating the specification.
It’s about showing consumers what that specification lets them create.
Ready to Turn Product Features Into Content People Actually Want to Watch?
Launching a new technology product requires more than communicating specifications.
The right creator strategy can translate those features into experiences, trends and content behaviours that audiences already understand.
At Noice, we help brands connect product strategy with creator-native storytelling, from early product discovery through launch and on-ground activations.
